Sont major\u00e9es les primes d\u2019assurance visant les pr\u00eats hypoth\u00e9caires consentis aux propri\u00e9taires-occupants, aux travailleurs autonomes et aux propri\u00e9taires d\u2019immeubles locatifs comptant un \u00e0 quatre logements, y compris les pr\u00eats de refinancement \u00e0 faible rapport pr\u00eat-valeur.<br \/>\nLa prime d\u2019assurance pr\u00eat hypoth\u00e9caire per\u00e7ue par la SCHL correspond \u00e0 un pourcentage du montant du pr\u00eat \u00e9tabli en fonction du rapport pr\u00eat-valeur. La prime peut \u00eatre acquitt\u00e9e en un seul versement ou, plus fr\u00e9quemment, \u00eatre ajout\u00e9e au capital du pr\u00eat et amortie sur la dur\u00e9e du pr\u00eat au moyen des versements hypoth\u00e9caires p\u00e9riodiques.<br \/>\nLe nouveau bar\u00e8me des primes s&#8217;appliquera aux nouvelles demandes d&#8217;assurance pr\u00eat hypoth\u00e9caire pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es le ou apr\u00e8s le 1er mai 2104. Pour que la demande soit assujettie au bar\u00e8me actuel (et plus bas) des primes, le pr\u00eateur doit pr\u00e9senter la demande d\u2019assurance pr\u00eat hypoth\u00e9caire \u00e0 la SCHL avant le 1er mai 2104, quelle que soit la date de cl\u00f4ture.
